Things we checked:
- The shape of the shoulder is dependent on Dijet Mass:
- The shape is not dependent on lepton type:
- The shape does not wholly depend on the weight:
- The shape is possibly correlated with the jet DeltaR? distribution:
- But ultimately not:
- Examination of jet1Pt vs. DijetMass? is sort of interesting:
- Same for jet2Pt vs. DijetMass? :
- Jet1Pt? vs. Jet2Pt? is as expected:

Further Examination of High Dijet Mass Bump
- I've uploaded the root files that now contain the histograms (Dilepton_Pt > 140)
- The histograms you want to look at are:
- Jet_DelR
- Dijet_Pt
- JetEt1? /SumJetEt (Misnamed, actually is Jet1Pt? /(Jet1Pt? + Jet2Pt? ))
- JetEta1? _v_JetEta2
- There are other plots in there - most of which should be fairly self explanatory. The Dijet Mass plots follow the same definition as the plots I showed at the meeting.
- Some interesting plots we made out of there:
- Jet_Et for the first jet divided by the sum of the Et for both jets
- Jet_Et for the first jet
ALPGEN Analysis
- Dijet Mass spectrum for Pythia (red) and Alpgen (blue) for Lepton Pt in [170,200]:
This is the most pronounced evidence of a "bump" in the ALPGEN sample.
