Debugging

cmsRun

cmsRun does not work

First noticed May 8th, 2007 by mnorman on uaf-1.t2. If CMSSW_1_3_1 is installed in ~/CMS/CMSSW_1_3_1 with CMS1, the end result is a complete crash of the system.

• Symptoms:

  norman@uaf-1 ~/CMS/CMSSW_1_3_1/src$ cmsRun
  Aborted
  norman@uaf-1 ~/CMS/CMSSW_1_3_1/src$ cmsRun --help
  Aborted
     

as opposed to:

norman@uaf-1 ~/codeTest/CMS/CMSSW_1_3_1/src$ cmsRun

• Tests done
  • CMSSW cleaned and recompiled with scramv1
  • CMS1 removed, directory cleaned with scramv1 and rebuilt
  • Versions of cmsRun compared between two. Identical.
• Eventual Resolution
  • Directory blown away and rebuilt from scratch.
